history;;
Born on a frosty October night in to a set of twins, Jake was already known to be different. He didn't cry when smacked, nor any time after he was taken home. His twin brother, Mark, was his opposite and rarely shut up, however. Growing up, Jake had always been the silent type, preferring to stick back, his brother's virtual shadow. The summer after the boys had celebrated their fifth grade graduation, they received letters to go to a school for the gifted, where one needed a GPA of at least 3.8 to even be considered to be allowed in.
Jake's parents couldn't have been happier to have 'special' children, and were constantly telling anyone who would listen that their boys were to attend a private school for gifted youngsters. They blossumed with pride, until one day the boys were out playing in the park and it happened.
They were attacked by men in dark robes.
They had strayed a bit to far from their parents, the men in robes had offered to help, though had only lead them further away. To the horror of the boys, they were beaten, thrown about, and then left for dead. Jake had been injured the least, his leg torn open from one of the dogs that the men had with them and left in a ditch for dead.
He'd gone for help, though by the time they'd found his twin brother, Mark was dead. Forever haunted by the memory of his brother, Jake had been tempted not to go to the middle school for the gifted. He didn't want to go alone. Though his parents had wanted him away, to perhaps help with him getting over his brother's death.
Because of that, Jake was determined never to see anyone bullied again, and he began his work-out, even beginning lessons of karate over the summers so that he could learn to defend himself and others. It was during one such summer that he met the boy who would turn in to his best friend. He took sort of a watchful role over the male known as Kristofer Sole, even though they were the same age, Kris was much more carefree then he himself was.
So when Kris's girlfriend, Kassie, cheated on him, he had been there for him. Had helped him through the hard time, and even started participation in smoking weed with Kris when he realized that it was a way for Kris to deal with reality, a way for him to escape it for brief periods. When he dropped out of school and was kicked out, Jake was still there. Hating the fact that his friend was living in a car, he would tell Kris to spend the night quite often at his place, and never really slept right when he knew Kris was sleeping in his damn car.
It was then that he realized that he had something of a crush on his old friend, so when Kris proposed moving to LA, Jake, who had been one of those who would fool around with Kris musically, packed up his bags and moved to California where he became the bass player of Waking Never, ever the watchful eye over his friend while having a good time himself now that he was free from all of society's rules about how someone of his 'class' should act, and he was having the best time of his life.
let's see what you got;;
rp sample;;
Jake walked silently beside of Victoria and Zac, going over the possible cover stories in his head. He knew that Victoria probably wasn't thinking straight at this point, and he couldn't really blame her, after all. What with all the things she had learned this week, she would need a bit of time to work through the whole processes in her mind. And Zac, well, Zac didn't have the brain power, really to come up with anything truly decent. Of course, he'd never admit that to his best mate, but deep down, they both knew that he was the brains of thier whole entire operation. He sighed softly as they walked.
What did they know about this guy? They didn't. They knew almost absolutely nothing. All they knew was where he worked and his name. For all that they knew, he was a homicidal maniac. That was one reason why he had insisted that he and Zac come with her. They could protect her, they could use magic, she couldn't. She was still underage. As they came upon the entrance to the Ministry, He looked over at the other two Gryffindors walking with him and shook his head slightly as Victoria asked what their plan was. "He works in the Gaming Department, yes? Quidditch?" he asked softly, wondering if he had gotten the facts straight. "Mm, we pretend that we are interested in a career in Quidditch," he stated softly. "Zac and I, we're built about right for beaters, Victoria, you could pull off Seeker or a Chaser."
It was believable enough. He smiled slightly at them. "We'll just ask to speak with someone in the Quidditch department, I'm sure we'll be able to get Daniel Martin, it won't be a problem." With that, he lead the three of them in to the Ministry, handing over his wand for inspection before pocketing it once more. "What's your names and your business at the Ministry of Magic?" the woman asked, looking up at them. Jake raised his head slightly. "James Wise the third, Zachary Johnson, and Victoria Lennox. The three of us are here to talk to someone in the British and Irish Quidditch League about possible career choices outside Hogwarts. Our Head of House, Professor Bane, said that we should always keep our options open," he stated, tilting his head, smirking slightly and watched the woman who merely shook her head slightly and handed them each a token. "Go down to the lift, take it to level two, follow that main hallway until you come to the second fork, go right, the Quidditch League is the fourth door to your right."
